I cannot think of a single person that hasn't been affected by the last couple of years. So many more of us are living with higher levels of anxiety, stress and so forth. There are so many ways that we can help and support ourselves during these times. Sleep, meditation, exercise all help us in live day to day feeling better mentally, but its also so important we are paying attention to the foods we are putting in our bodies. We can get great benefits from eating the right foods, and supporting our mental health with brain foods is one of the ways we can help ourselves.

The Benefits
Kale

Green leafy vegetables in general are really good for us. Research shows that they help
cognitive decline. Kale is rich in antioxidants, it contains lutein, which is known as a brain booster, omegas and fatty acids that improve the brains performance. Plus its packed with minerals such as iron, manganese, sulforaphane and calcium. Low levels of iron in the body will result in lack of oxygen to the brain, affecting you mentally, and sulforaphane can help to reduce inflammation within the body which can help boost cognitive function.
Avocado

Avocados are full of monosaturated fats which can help to lower blood pressure. High blood pressure can lead to cognitive decline. They assist in healthy blood flow throughout the body.
Oranges
Loaded with Vitamin C oranges are great for mental health. Vitamin C is a key factor in preventing your mental health from declining. Vitamin C fights off free radicals that can damage brain cells, and this could help with and prevent disorders such as depression, schizophrenia, and Alzheimer's
Walnuts
Studies have shown walnuts help with better memory skills, motor coordination, improved anxiety, and better learning skills. They are considered the top nut for brain health.
Tahini
Tahini which is made from sesame seeds. The components in sesame seeds have been shown to protect the human brain and nerve cells from free radical damage. The antioxidants in sesame seeds have the ability to leave your blood stream and directly affect your brain and your central nervous system. They have even been know to reduce the harmful effects of aluminium in the brain, often associated with Alzheimer's.
